Want to spice up your “inner beauty” a little bit? Sorry, only “flesh-colored” bras are allowed…at least in Zhongshan Technical Secondary School in the city of Zhongshan, Guangdong province.
The school has been reported to rule that its female students can only wear nude bras. According to a student interview, the school will take points off from the student’s overall score if she is found to wear non-nude bras – 2 points off for black ones; 3 points off for ones with lace or diamonds; 4 points off for ones with leopard prints, strips or dots. By that standard, the image below would be a 4-points-off design.
It all started when a female student majored in arts was warned by a male school authority for wearing popping colored bras, and was asked to write a 1500-word letter of confession.
And yes, there are regular checks. The girl in the interview said that sometimes there may even be male students in presence during the checks: “We feel no sense of security or privacy.”
The school, however, insisted that it was more of a “suggestion” than a rule, and that it was for the female students’ own good because, after all, students are “still in puberty.”
“Our school uniform is pretty sheer.” One school authority told journalists.
The rule, or suggestion, or whatever it is, is but one of the many measures that Chinese schools adopt to prevent puberty so that students can focus on studying. For example, a middle school in east China once banned students from the opposite sex from talking alone or walking side by side.
